Here’s the deal with Puppy Mills. More often than not, the puppies never — yes, never — leave their cages. They live in squalor. They are not walked. They are not pet. They are not loved. They are, quite simply, a commodity to be sold for profit.

That’s where you as the consumer come in.  

Sign this pledge from The Humane Society and commit to never buying pet supplies at pet stores that sell animals — because more often than not, those animals are bought from puppy mills.  

Don’t buy anything from pet stores that sell puppies. Thankfully most major chains like Petco and Petsmart sponsor finding sheltered animals homes but unfortunately there are still plenty of the “puppy stores” around.
